Listening to these illustrates how many expensive contemporary designs are really ‘Emperor’s New Clothes’, where appearance trumps audio integrity.
You will never see an original pair of loudspeakers from the early IMF range which do not have foam rot around the mid-range drivers - and these were no exception. So…… we have had these drivers expertly re-foamed with the correct surrounds. Consequently they now sound as delicious as the day they were born all those years ago.
A mirror image pair, factory matched, with serial numbers 1028 L & R. Not only are these in full working order, they are also in really nice physical condition - a real credit to their very fussy original owner (see close-up pictures).

The ALS 30 is our smallest Active Line speaker incorporating two dissimilar six-inch bass units. It's mid-range driver and dome tweeter are identical to those in the ALS 40.”
