This 301 has been left unused for many years but when tested it performs very well indeed. The motor runs smooth & whisper quiet, all speeds are accurate and stable and the linkages all operate smoothly. On 33 RPM this reaches stable speed in around one third of a revolution.
Physical condition is pretty good (see close-up pictures). To increase the mass of the platter the original owner has used heavy bitumen damping tape around the platter’s circumference. He also used the same damping material on the underside of the platter (see picture 10). We haven’t attempted to remove this tape but if the new owner decides to remove it, this could easily be returned to original strobe-less platter. The Garrard rubber mat has been replaced with a brand new anti-static felt mat.
This comes with a hardback user manual and original mounting nuts, bolts and washers. It also comes with its original brand new, unused mounting template
The motor clamp is present and will be used for safe shipping.
This is currently operating on 200 - 250 volts / 50 cycles. Conversion to 100 - 130 volts is really simple, but 60 cycles operation will require a replacement motor pulley.
If requested we can convert this to 100 - 130 volts prior to shipping (free of charge). If conversion to 60 cycles is required then a replacement 60 cycles motor pulley will be required. These are available for around £20 from Ray Clark at the Classic Turntable Company
