Fons CQ30

Transcription Turntable - 33, 45, 78

In quite reasonable physical condition, this vintage British turntable is in full working order and ready to accommodate any 9 inch tonearm with an SME type bed-plate fitting.

Designed by Hamish Robertson (Ariston & Linn), with suspended sub-chassis and high mass platter, this deck operates at 33, 45 & 78 speeds, with separate variable pitch control for each speed. It also uses a DC motor with electronic control, so it will operate on 50 or 60 cycles mains without the need for any modification.

The following information and specifications are from the excellent vinylengine.com website:

“The FONS CQ30 is a piece of transcription equipment of the highest quality, designed to afford optimum performance from your records when used with ancillary equipment of equally high standards.
The deck features 3 speeds, all adjustable individually and accurately for a total range of 29-100rpm.

The motor in the CQ30 is under full electronic control to eliminate dependence on mains stability and the platter is a 12" precision component spinning on a hyper concentric main bearing developed over years of intensive research.
