Made in Japan in the early 1970s, Audiotronic was the brand name of Lasky’s.
Discrete design (no nasty chips or ICs). This looks to be really well designed and built, with a host of features found in Japanese amplifiers of the era.
This one is in excellent physical condition, switch cleaned, tested for a couple of hours, working really well an sounding remarkable with all types of music.
The original owner had written this off. He discarded it from his system in the 80s because one channel stopped working. He wrote a detailed description of the fault, along with an in-depth analysis of his recommendations for future investigations, along with advice of how to return this to full working order. When I checked it out it was just a blown channel protection fuse on the rear panel. Replaced with a new 3 amp fuse and now working perfectly.
The note he wrote was stuck on the top panel with blobs of glue. I don’t have the correct chemicals to remove these little blobs and I don’t want to ruin the paintwork, so I’ll leave this little job to the new owner. (see last picture).
I doubt you’ll find anything much on line and the Audiotronic brand doesn’t appear in any of my Hi-Fi Year Books. However, I did find some basic information regarding specifications:
