Pair of 12 inch Tannoy Devon

Classic 1970’s ‘Monitor HPD’ Dual Concentric (HPD/315/8)

You already know all about these legendary British loudspeakers so we won’t be boring you with all the details. In terms of chronology the Devon dates from the mid 1970’s and were part of the classic range that included the Eaton (10 inch), Cheviot (12 inch) and Berkeley & Arden (15 inch).

These are working perfectly and sound exactly as they should - absolutely beautiful. The drive units have just professionally re-foamed using genuine Tannoy kits rather than the cheap foam surrounds currently available. These stunning loudspeakers perform just like new and sound exactly as they should. The foam surrounds will not need to be renewed for at least another 20 years. The cones are perfect.

The cabinets are good and solid but do have some blemishes on the real wood veneer, which are all clearly shown in the pictures. The grilles are original and the grille cloth is good (no cats in the house..!)

Remember back in the 70’s, pressing your nose up against Lasky’s window..? You couldn’t afford them then….. but now you can - AND in coming years these will only increase in value.

The last picture is from the 1977 Hi-Fi Year Book.
