Sugden A25

Integrated Amplifier

In very nice physical condition, tested for around 2 hours - working as it should and sounding very nice indeed.

The following information is from the Sugden website:

“The entry level A25 was quite an advanced amplifier design and an early user of Hitachi MOSFET output devices. It created quite a sensation when first released as the performance was exceptional for such a low cost. The Hi-Fi press and customers loved the sound and it received lots of good reviews. Rated at a modest 25 Watts, it sounded a lot louder due to the dynamic tone burst it could produce. There were quite a lot of A25’s produced and the reliability has proven to be exceptional.”

A few reviews:

"The only thing wrong with the review sample of this remarkable amplifier is that Sugden want it back." - Which Compact Disc? - Oct 85

"A delight to the ear." - Stereo Buyers Guide - Jun-85

"It is clear that Sugden would never fall into the trap of producing an 'average' amplifier merely for reasons of price, but we never expected that they would be able to offer such an attractive product, not only in terms of sound reproduction but of basic design."

A lot of amp for little money
