SME 3009 Series 2 Improved

Boxed & Fitted With FD200 Fluid Damper

Gleaming like a new pin (see close-up pictures), this beautiful tonearm is also in full & perfect working order. Arm bearings and geometry are all spot-on, full signal continuity from head-shell tags to RCA plugs and the dashpot (arm lowering mechanism) operates smooth & slow, just as it should.

Of the fixed head-shell 3009 SME say:- "The fixed head-shell is the purer design with the lowest possible mass - only 5.5 grams…. offering a significant improvement in trackability and all round definition plus cleaner bass and low sensitivity to external shock and feedback”

You will notice that this is fitted with the SME FD200 fluid damper. The damping fluid has obviously been removed for transport, but included is a syringe containing the correct fluid to re-fill the trough before use (see picture 13). The benefits of the fluid damper are explained in the last 3 pictures.

This comes in its original carton, with original user manual, mounting template and alignment protractor. Also included is original SME signal cable, 4 x bed-plate fixing screws, a packet of SME cartridge mounting bolts (with nuts & spacers), original SME finger-lift and original Allen key.
