Fixed headshell, with knife-edge bearings this lovely tonearm is in full working order and gleaming like a new pin (see close-up picture), a real credit to its original & very fussy owner. Arm bearings and geometry are all spot-on, full signal continuity from headshell tags to RCA plugs and the dashpot (arm lowering mechanism) operates smooth and slow. You can see the original owner had the signal cable hard-wired into the base, rather than the original plug and socket arrangement – which can often work loose. We checked and this modification has been correctly and professionally carried-out.

Of the fixed head-shell 3009 SME say:- "The fixed head-shell is the purer design with the lowest possible mass - only 5.5 grams…. offering a significant improvement in trackability and all round definition plus cleaner bass and low sensitivity to external shock and feedback”

This comes with original user manual, SME signal cable, 4 x bed-plate fixing screws, finger-lift and a set of cartridge mounting nuts & bolts. It also comes with exact scale copies of the mounting template and alignment protractor. If you’re feeling cheeky it also comes with its original warranty card.
