Packed with an array of useful features found in up-market Japanese audio from the 70’s & 80’s this classic ‘Made in Japan’ shelf-bender has just had pots and switches serviced and is in full working order.

The following information from the excellent website:

The SA-8800 has the impressive feature which is the NSA (non-switching amplifier), created specially by Pioneer. This is a type of amplifier that adopts the merits of both class A and class B amplifiers, and it excels in keeping down the heat loss and allows the transistors to operate all the time in the active region. For this reason, a high output power with a very low distortion factor is yielded all the way up to the high frequencies.

• Power output: 80 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo)
• Frequency response: 5Hz to 100kHz
• Total harmonic distortion: 0.05%
• Damping factor: 55
• Input sensitivity: 2.5mV (MM), 150mV (line)
• Signal to noise ratio: 90dB (MM), 110dB (line)
• Output: 150mV (line), 1V (Pre out)
• Semiconductors: 3 x IC, 6 x FET, 73 x transistors, 49 x diodes
• Dimensions: 453 x 155 x 425mm
• Weight: 15.6kg
• Year: 1980
