Ortofon SPU Classic NE moving coil cartridge, fitted with coupled step-up transformer. Vintage top-end from Ortofon. Tracking force between 3 and 5 grams. This combination has MC step-up transformer integrated with cartridge, so produces MM level signal output.

Tested – Left & right signal output correct, no twists or kinks in the cantilever, suspension is fine and stylus-tip looks spot-on when viewed under a stylus-tip magnifying glass.

The specifications below refer to the cartridge only. The integrated MC step-up transformer increases the signal output to MM level and increases the overall weight to 19 grams
