This very well specified and highly regarded early 90s CD player is in very nice physical condition, serviced and in full working order. This sounds lovely, playing our badly scratched test CDR without missing a beat.

The common problem with these Philips/Marantz mechanisms is the failure of the plastic drawer loading pulley/cog. With this in mind we always replace these pulley/cogs with a brand new part prior to sale, so you can be sure this very common problem won’t happen any time soon. As a matter of course we also replace the loading belt.

This comes with original & correct remote control, mains cable and a pair of RCA (Phono) signal output cables. The user manual is a print-out copy from the excellent manualmachine.com website

There are no transport locks with this, so to prevent damage during transit we have padded the laser eye with some bubble-wrap to prevent it flopping around (see pictures 16, 17 & 18). This will have to be removed before powering-up. Undo 5 screws to remove the top case. Better safe than sorry.
