Cerwin Vega S1

Classic Late 70’s Loudspeakers

A really rare find.

Cerwin Vega did actually make high quality speakers in the 1970's - renowned for their huge bass response while not requiring massive power. Do not confuse these with the later Cerwin Vegas made by Stanton.

Of course you will never see a pair of these that have their original bass driver foam surrounds. These surrounds will have disintegrated many years ago.

So…. at considerable expense we obtained the correct foams from the USA and had our speaker-guy fit them.

The result is astonishing. Simply WOW..! Proper late 70’s American enclosures that weigh a ton and sound absolutely awesome.

These are in full working order and very nice physical condition. There are a few little stains on the real walnut veneer (see close-up pictures) - but nothing at all nasty and nothing that would put you off. Apart from removing the bass drivers for the re-foam, these are all original and un-molested.

Hearing is believing - and it really is with these.

The last picture is from the 1979 Hi-Fi Year book, when these monsters would have cost you just over £600 - an enormous price-tag in 1979.

These are very large and enormously heavy (52kg unpacked..!) so packing and shipping will not be an option. Instead, the new owner can have these delivered in person and free of charge within a 100 mile radius of CR3 5UF (M25/Jctn 6). This will also include delivery to Calais or Dieppe - but add £70 for ferry and expenses.
