Highly regarded in the early 80’s, you will never see a pair of original AR18’s that work perfectly. Even if they appear to look right, it is guaranteed that the will need to have the bass drivers re-foamed. Either re-foam them properly or use them as they are and watch them disintegrate before your eyes.

This pair has just been expertly re-foamed (see pictures 2 & 3). They sound perfect and will last at least another 20 years before needing another re-foam. They sound great right now but will sound even better when they have been used for 15 or 20 hours and are properly run-in, by which time the new foam surrounds will have softened-up nicely.
